Wife's murder kept in deep freeze for 2 months

D S Kunwar | TNN | Dec 14, 2010, 01.25 AM IST

DEHRADUN: A software engineer succeeded in keeping under wraps the murder of his wife for two months but the law finally caught up with him on Sunday night. After a spat on the night of October 17, Rajesh Gulati (37) allegedly smothered his 36-year-old wife Anupama Gulati to death in their two-room rented house at Prakash Nagar in Dehradun Cantonment. To cover up the heinous crime, Rajesh bought an electric cutter from the market and chopped off the body into 70 pieces.
Then he bought a deep freezer to stash away body pieces. Police sources said Rajesh also bought a bundle of black polythene carrybags to store the body parts. He had planned to secretly dump them at remote locations on Dehradun-Mussoorie road. When his four-year-old kids — twins Sonakshi and Sidhant — would enquire about their mother, Rajesh would tell them that she was away in Delhi.
The murder came to light on Sunday morning when Anupama's elder brother, SK Pradhan, reached Dehradun and sent a friend to his sister's house with Anupama's passport. Suspecting foul play after they were unable to locate her, he lodged a missing complaint with the police. Acting swiftly, a joint team of Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) conducted a raid at the techie's residence and cracked the case.
Dehradun SSP G S Martolia said the police team recovered severed parts of the body, including Anupama's head, from the deep freezer after sustained interrogation of the accused.
According to SSP Martolia, the culprit was taken to the shops from where he had bought the stone-cutter electric machine, polythene carrybags and deep freezer. He was also taken to spots where he had disposed off body parts. The accused is reported to have confessed to his crime.
Narrating the sequence of events, IG (Garhwal Range) M A Ganpati said that on the night of the incident Rajesh slapped his wife after a domestic quarrel. ''He told us that she fell on the corner of a wall after which she became unconscious. A jittery Rajesh thinking that his wife, after regaining consciousness, would report the matter to the police decided to kill her. And then he throttled her by thrusting cotton into her nose and mouth before using pillow to kill her,'' said Ganpati.
Rajesh was later remanded in a four-day police remand by the court of Dehradun chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Kunwar Amrindra Singh.

hakereh Khaleeli's gruesome murder s

Fourteen years after Shakereh Khaleeli's gruesome murder shook Bangalore, Swami Shraddhananda is sentenced to death for killing his wife. The Khaleeli family hails the verdict.

A +A -
When Swami Shraddhananda was sentenced to death by a Bangalore trial court on May 21, the self-proclaimed godman's supernatural powers proved more than defunct. Nearly 20 years ago, Shakereh Khaleeli had thought otherwise.

So much so that the beautiful grand-daughter of Mirza Ismail, former dewan of the princely state of Mysore, had abandoned her husband and four daughters to marry him. She paid for it when Shraddhananda buried her alive in 1991, rocking Bangalore as much as it did the family.

Sentenced by sessions judge B.S. Thotad for killing Khaleeli, Shraddhananda, alias Murli Manohar Mishra, has also been awarded a five year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 201 of the IPC.
Unfazed, the 63-year-old has appealed against the death penalty- subject to confirmation from the Karnataka High Court-on grounds of old age and health problems.

But for Khaleeli's family, justice has been served, even if it has come 11 years too late. "We cannot get our mother back but he has been awarded the death sentence and that is what matters to us," says Sabah, one of Khaleeli's daughters, who is settled in Mumbai. "After 11 years of pain and torture, we can go back to living normal lives," adds Ezmeth, the youngest.

Swami Shraddhananda with Shakereh Khaleeli
There has been nothing normal about the case, be it the nature of the crime or its progress in court. Among the first to employ DNA technology for evidence, "it was also the first case in India where the exhumation of the body was videographed and the court accepted it as evidence", says H.T. Sangliana, former Bangalore police commissioner and currently a Lok Sabha MP, who helped arrest the fake godman from Madhya Pradesh.

Shraddhananda lured Khaleeli with an eye on her wealth and property worth crores of rupees. While Khaleeli's mother, Taj Namazi, had gifted her property in Bangalore, including a house on Richmond Road, her affluence increased when she married her cousin, Akbar Khaleeli, an Indian diplomat.

In the early 1980s, life seemed to be on a roll with Khaleeli accompanying her husband on his overseas postings along with her four daughters Sabah, Ezmeth, Rehana and Zeebundeh.

Then in 1982 the family came across Shraddhananda at the house of a common friend in Delhi. Working for the friend-who belongs to a former royal family of Uttar Pradesh- Shraddhananda had graduated from being an errand boy to handling tax and property matters.

With his gift of the gab, he influenced the Khaleelis so much that they invited him to their home in Bangalore. "This was a fateful invitation that spelt doom for Khaleeli," says Bangalore Police Commissioner S. Mariswamy.

In helping Khaleeli resolve some property matters, Shraddhananda endeared himself to her to the extent that the two were soon involved in a relationship, with Shraddhananda exploiting Khaleeli's desire to have a son by claiming magical powers. In 1985, Khaleeli divorced her husband.

She married the fake godman the next year. Soon, however, differences cropped up between the two and in 1991 Shraddhananda decided to get rid of his wife. He told his servants that he wanted to keep antiques and ornaments safely and had a wooden casket made.
×
He also had casual labourers dig a pit in the courtyard, saying it was for a tank. One evening in March 1991, he drugged his wife with sleeping tablets and after she became unconscious, he put her in the casket and buried her alive.

VINDICATED: Sabah (left) and Ezmeth
After Sabah noticed her mother's absence, she confronted Shraddhananda, who said she had gone abroad to have a baby. Unconvinced, she lodged a missing-person complaint on June 10, 1992.
The breakthrough came three years later-after pressure from Khaleeli's former husband and family - when Mahadeva, a detective of the Central Crime Branch, had a servant from the Khaleeli household confess to him in a drunken stupor that he had helped Shraddhananda kill his wife.

On April 30, 1994, the fake swami was taken into custody. Soon, Khaleeli's body was exhumed and videographed.
"In May 1994," says police officer C. Veeraiah, who filed the charges against Shraddhananda, "he was to receive an advance of Rs 2 crore for the mansion where he had buried Shakereh. He had planned to sell it for Rs 6 crore." Shraddhananda had already extracted Rs 30 crore from Khaleeli by then.

While another legal tangle may be awaiting the Khaleeli family in the high court, Sabah says they may not pursue the case "as this is a victory for us". Chennai-based Ezmeth has other things on her mind. "We are keen to send our mother on her last journey in a dignified manner," she says.
So as Khaleeli's killer prepares for an undignified exit from the world, her daughters may finally get around to burying their mother with honour

A Short Story on Self Confidence

A Short Story on Self Confidence

There was a business executive who was deep in debt and could see no way out.

Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.

Suddenly an old man appeared before him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said.

After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”

He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.”

Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.

The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!

“I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.

With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.

Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.

“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.”

And she led the old man away by the arm.

The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.

Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

face

One day, a young guy and a young girl fell in love.
But the guy came from a poor family. The girl’s parents weren’t too happy.
So the young man decided not only to court the girl but to court her parents as well. In time, the parents saw that he was a good man and was worthy of their daughter’s hand.
But there was another problem: The man was a soldier. Soon, war broke out and he was being sent overseas for a year. The week before he left, the man knelt on his knee and asked his lady love, “Will you marry me?” She wiped a tear, said yes, and they were engaged. They agreed that when he got back in one year, they would get married.
But tragedy struck. A few days after he left, the girl had a major vehicular accident. It was a head-on collision.
When she woke up in the hospital, she saw her father and mother crying. Immediately, she knew there was something wrong.
She later found out that she suffered brain injury. The part of her brain that controlled her face muscles was damaged. Her once lovely face was now disfigured. She cried as she saw herself in the mirror. “Yesterday, I was beautiful. Today, I’m a monster.” Her body was also covered with so many ugly wounds.
Right there and then, she decided to release her fiancé from their promise. She knew he wouldn’t want her anymore. She would forget about him and never see him again.
For one year, the soldier wrote many letters—but she wouldn’t answer. He phoned her many times but she wouldn’t return her calls.
But after one year, the mother walked into her room and announced, “He’s back from the war.”
The girl shouted, “No! Please don’t tell him about me. Don’t tell him I’m here!”
The mother said, “He’s getting married,” and handed her a wedding invitation.
The girl’s heart sank. She knew she still loved him—but she had to forget him now.
With great sadness, she opened the wedding invitation.
And then she saw her name on it!
Confused, she asked, “What is this?”
That was when the young man entered her room with a bouquet of flowers. He knelt beside her and asked, “Will you marry me?”
The girl covered her face with her hands and said, “I’m ugly!”
The man said, “Without your permission, your mother sent me your photos. When I saw your photos, I realized that nothing has changed. You’re still the person I fell in love. You’re still as beautiful as ever. Because I love you!

Pakistan bars Qandeel’s family from ‘forgiving’ son for honour killing
Imtiaz Ahmad, Islamabad |  Updated: Jul 19, 2016 17:42 IST

Muhammad Waseem drugged and strangled Qandeel Baloch on Friday in a murder that has shocked Pakistan, a conservative Muslim nation where the 26-year-old both titillated and outraged with her risqué social media photos and videos. (Reuters)
Pakistani authorities have barred murdered social media sensation Qandeel Baloch’s family from “forgiving” her brother for strangling her under an Islamic law, taking a rare stand against “honour killings”.
Police in Qandeel’s hometown of Multan confirmed that Section 311 of the Pakistan Penal Code had been added to her murder case, barring her family from pardoning the alleged killer under the “Qisas and Diyat” law.
City police chief Azhar Akram said the Islamic law, whereby the family or heirs of the victim can pardon the murderer, could not be applied in Qandeel’s case after police added Section 311, through which the state becomes the plaintiff.

Qandeel’s brother Muhammad Waseem drugged and strangled her on Friday in a murder that shocked the conservative Muslim nation, where the 26-year-old had titillated and outraged people with her racy social media photos and videos.
Waseem, after being arrested on Monday, said he had no regrets because his sister had dishonoured the family by making a controversial video with Mufti Abdul Qavi.
Read: Qandeel Baloch’s brother ‘proudly’ accepts drugging, killing her, has no regrets
Qandeel’s father would not be able to forgive Waseem and other suspects in his daughter’s murder if he decided to do so at any point, Akram explained. Under Section 311, the discretion of accepting a pardon from the victim’s family is left to the judge handling the case.
Akram said police were investigating everyone who had been in contact with Qandeel before she was murdered.
The scope of the probe has been expanded to include the starlet’s parents and Qavi, whose selfies with Qandeel had appeared on social media last month and stirred a controversy that cost him membership of two religious bodies.

Qandeel’s mother has accused Qavi of instigating her sons – Shahid, Aashiq and Waseem – against her daughter.
A local police officer said Qandeel’s father had changed his statement thrice.
The autopsy report has also contradicted the time of the murder given by Qandeel’s parents in the first information report. The autopsy conducted by doctors at Multan’s Nishtar Hospital found the murder was committed between 9pm and 10 pm on Friday, while rescue services were alerted at 11 am on Saturday morning.
Read: Qandeel Baloch: Another statistic in Pakistan’s struggle with honour killings
The parents had claimed Waseem murdered Qandeel sometime between 2am and 3am on Saturday.
The murder once again swung the spotlight on the phenomenon of “honour killings”. The independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has reported nearly 1,100 women were killed in 2015 by relatives who believed they had dishonoured their families.
In 2013, 869 women died in honour-related attacks while the figure for 2014 was about 1,000. In its 2015 report, the HRCP said 900 women suffered sexual violence and nearly 800 took, or tried to take, their own lives.

Affidavit: Tanner Flores "Cleaned Up" Ashley Doolittle After Shooting Her
TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2016 AT 6:37 A.M.
BY MICHAEL ROBERTS

As we've reported, authorities arrested Tanner Flores, eighteen, after recovering a body that's been positivelyidentified as Ashley Doolittle, a Berthoud eighteen-year-old — and his former girlfriend.
Now, an affidavit in the case is revealing new and chilling details about the circumstances of Doolittle's death.
The document maintains that Flores has admitted to killing Doolittle because he was "angry with her."
He then transported her remains across the state and cleaned her before returning her body to his vehicle.

Facebook
The police document, obtained by the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, notes that Doolittle's mother reported her missing on Thursday, June 9, after her car was found abandoned near Lon Hagler Reservoir in Larimer County.
The concern prompted by this discovery was compounded by information that Flores was "really down" after his breakup with Doolittle.
Indeed, he's said to have sent a Snapchat to friends the evening before that was "suicidal in nature."
Even more worrisome: Flores had vanished a few hours before Doolittle went missing, and his father told authorities that a handgun was missing from the older man's gun locker.

Before long, deputies received information that Flores might have been headed to Collbran, a community on Colorado's Western Slope. That's where the unoccupied home of his late grandfather was located.
To confirm this information, Larimer County deputies contacted a woman who lived near the grandfather's property. She reported spotting a truck matching the description of Flores's vehicle parked in the driveway, the affidavit states.

Tanner Flores's current Facebook profile pic is this photo of his truck.

And that's not all she noticed.
An excerpt from the affidavit reads: “She saw that the male had opened all the doors to the truck and pulled out what looked to be a bundled-up blanket from the back seat of the truck and set it on the ground. She said she was not totally sure, but she thought she could see an arm sticking out of the bundle.”
At that point, the woman continued, she saw the male — Flores — place the body-sized bundle back into his truck's cab.
That was more than enough for the Mesa County Sheriff's Office to scramble its SWAT team, which set up a perimeter around the property.

The SWAT teamers had a clear view of Flores's subsequent activities.
Another excerpt reads: “The male was observed near the truck and the residence but no female was observed with him.... The male was observed throwing something in the field north of the residence that deputies believed was a rag with potential blood on it. The male was also observed with something black in his hand.”
By 10:30 a.m. or so, Flores was taken into custody and Doolittle's body was recovered.
During a later interview with law enforcers, the document quotes Flores admitting to "shooting Ashley in the head twice because he [was] angry with her."
The location: Carter Lake, about ten miles from Lon Hagler Reservoir, by theSentinel's measure.

Ashley Doolittle was a competitive horse rider and former rodeo queen.
Facebook
At his grandfather's home, Flores told investigators that he "clean[ed] her up before returning her to the truck."
He added that he discarded a bloody cloth and rug at the residence.
Yesterday, Flores made his first court appearance in Mesa County, but formal charges still haven't been pressed against him.
He's scheduled to be extradited to Larimer County soon, where he's expected to answer for allegedly taking a most promising life in a senseless and horrific way.

A Brooklyn man tried to get a girl to like him, but in the process, he was scammed by a fortune teller.
The unnamed marketing professional from East Williamsburg met a woman named Michelle when he was in Arizona during the summer of 2013.
He was in love, but Michelle did not feel the same way.
So, he sought advice from psychic Priscilla Kelly Delmaro after coming upon her Times Square office during a walk one day.
Delmaro said he and Michelle were indeed “twin flames,” but her help would cost him $2,500 for the first visit and $9,000 for the second.
She then told the man in September of 2013 she would need diamonds to “protect his energy.”
He bought her a ring from Tiffany & Co. for $40,064 under the promise it would one day be his engagement ring.
Now, it was finally time to visit Michelle’s Los Angeles home.
She seemed happy to see him, but she backed out on the date they scheduled.
Delmaro said this was because he was being haunted by a spirit, so he needed to pay her two sums of $28,000 each, and they should stage a $40,000 funeral to convince the spirit he had died.
When this failed, Delmaro requested a “time machine” to cleanse his past. This came in in the form of a $30,000 Rolex.
The next step was to get the spirit to enter a bridge of gold and trap it in another realm.
Delmaro asked for $80,000 to buy an 80-mile bridge and then $90,000 for another bridge to occupy Michelle’s spirit.
By the end of 2013, the man spent over $320,000 — money Delmaro vowed to return when the spirit was vanquished.
Michelle died of a possible drug overdose in February of 2014.
Delmaro told the man she would “reincarnate” her in the body of a 31-year-old woman in Los Angeles.
The payouts to follow would force him to lose his apartment, sell his car and borrow money from friends.
He went to Los Angeles to find the new Michelle, but the 24-year-old woman he met did not seem like his former love.
It was only at this point, down $713,975, when he began to suspect Delmaro was scamming him.
The man went to the police and on May 26, 2014, the psychic and her male companion were arrested for grand larceny.
The two remain in jail, but their lawyer reportedly denies the allegations against them.

Weatherford, Texas - A Texas jailer is alive after an unlikely group of good Samaritans acted quickly, risking their own security in order to help - him.

At least eight prisoners were behind a locked door in a holding cell located in the building’s basement. The lone guard assigned to monitor the group had been joking and conversing with the inmates when all of a sudden, he slumped over.

“He just fell over,” inmate Nick Kelton told WFAA Thursday. “Looked like an act. Could have died right there.”

Realizing that the man had an apparent heart attack, Kelton and the other inmates cried out for help. They eventually made the risky decision to break out of the holding cell, fully aware of the potential danger.

“We were worried they’re going to come with guns drawn on us,” Kelton said.

Each of the 39-year-old’s 10 knuckles is tattooed with a letter, which together spell out Miley Cyrus’s full name. His most recent tattoo depicts a tongue-wagging Miley, inspired by her infamous VMA performance.
“Loads of people get all sorts of things tattooed onto their bodies,” says the British man, “like Chinese symbols, or pictures of cartoon characters. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to have loads of Miley Cyrus tattoos?”
And while “Liberty Walk” and “Can’t Be Tamed” line the insides of his arms, perhaps it’s the tattoo of another Miley Cyrus song title, on the outside of his right forearm, that tells it best

MYSTERIES

Divya Bharti was the rising star of Indian cinema when she was launched way back in the 90s. While she won a million hearts with her acting in the commercially successful Deewana, Divya's acting career did not last long. Just as she turned 18, Divya decided to get married to Sajid Nadiadwala whom she met while working on the sets of Shola Aur Shabnam. Nadiadwala had come to meet actor Govinda but fell in love with Divya Bharti. According to reports, the doll-like Divya Bharti and her marriage to Sajid Nadiadwala was kept a secret so as to not affect her prosperous film career. However, Divya's happiness was short lived as on April 5, 1993, Divya was found dead after she fell from the balcony of her Tulsi apartment building on the fifth floor in Versova, Mumbai. While some call it accidental death, there have been other reports in the media hinting at the alleged involvement of the underworld mafia. According to reports in the media released during that time, Divya Bharti's body was sent for examination and a fair amount of alcohol was found in her blood. It was also reported that designer Neeta Lulla and her husband Dr Shyam Lulla had met Divya Bharti that evening. While the investigation of the case was stopped in 1998 and her falling from the balcony was termed as 'accidental death', speculations and the mystery around Bollywood's then youngest heroine cannot be overlooked.

The bombshell  Jiah who hit the cinema screens like a hurricane when she romanced Amitabh Bachchan in Nishabd gave the world another shock with the news of her suicide. Jiah reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at around 11:45 pm in her bedroom of her Juhu apartment in Mumbai on June 3, 2013. Her mother Rabiya and sister Kavita were not at home at that time. While depression was touted as the main reason at that time for the actress to end her life, a six page suicide note found by her sister in the house four days later mentioned that Jiah reportedly got an abortion and this sparked various controversies. Jiah's relationship with upcoming actor Suraj Panscholi, son of actors Aditya Panscholi and Zarina Wahab, came out in the open post Jiah's suicide and he was taken into police custody. Although Suraj was released on bail, the case was moved into the hands of the CBI. On one hand, the late actress' mother Rabiya Khan demanded a re-investigation of the case, on the other the Panscholis slapped a defamation case against Rabiya of Rs 100 crore.

The country's most popular erotic actress, Silk Smitha ruled the roost career-wise and went on from an insignificant 'extra' in South films to her meteoric rise as a symbol of sensuality in films. While her professional life was going great guns, apparently Silk's tragic personal life forced her to commit suicide on September 23, 1996. While we are unsure of Silk Smitha and the reasons that caused her to take this step, speculations about her imbalanced personal life, financial problems, disillusionment in love and dependency on alcohol come to the forefront. Silk apparently was found hanging at her residence in Chennai, while some reports also hint that Silk poisoned herself to death. Silk Smitha's intriguing personal and professional life and her shocking demise inspired Ekta Kapoor to make a film on her. Directed by Milan Luthria, Ekta Kapoor's The Dirty Picture was released in 2011. Vidya Balan won both critical and commercial acclaim for her performance as Silk Smitha and walked away with the National Award for the same. Despite a film and various articles on Silk, the actress and her death remain an unsolved mystery till today.

Mamta Kulkarni's shocking disappearance is one story that has the ingredients of a Bollywood masala potboiler! Yes, the curious case of Mamta Kulkarni and her shocking disappearance got a lot of media attention. If speculations around the same are anything to go by then Mamta's alleged affair with international drug kingpin Vicky Goswami and her friendship with underworld don Chhota Rajan may have led her to this anonymous existence. According to a report in India Today, Mamta apparently converted to Islam and shifted to Nairobi after leading an anonymous life in Dubai for a while. She has also been managing a leading real-estate and hotel business in Dubai. Mamta, who has a few hits to her credit like Karan Arjun, Aashiq Awara and Sabse Bada Khiladi got involved with underworld kingpin Vicky and this started her downfall in films. It was believed that the couple left for Dubai and were living there for a few years. According to a report in India TV a picture of Mamta visiting Vicky in a jail in Dubai was released in the newspapers. A picture of a visibly old Mamta came out at least 10 years from the release of her last film. Mamta was also believed to be living in an ashram in India for sometime.

Death came too soon for beauty queen turned VJ/actress Nafisa Joseph when she committed suicide by hanging herself in her apartment in Mumbai on July 29, 2004. Nafisa was to marry businessman Gautam Khanduja in a few weeks' time and apparently suffered from depression that made her end her life. According to her parents, Joseph allegedly took the step because her marriage was called off. While Nafisa was doing well career wise, her personal life was sadly always in the doldrums. According to an Indian Express report dated July 31, 2004, Nafisa was in a relationship with model Sameer Malhotra and was engaged to him post her Miss India victory. Since he was a lesser known model, this may have led to their break-up. Nafisa then moved on to model and actor Samir Soni and was engaged to him as well. After their engagement was called off, Nafisa is believed to have dated actor Rahul Bose for a brief period of time. Post her split with Rahul Bose, she found love with automobile business owner Gautam Khanduja and her engagement being called off a few days prior to her wedding may have been too much for her. According to rumours, Joseph discovered that Khanduja was still married, although having told her that he had been divorced for two years. According to the Indian Express report, a few nights before her death, Nafisa and Gautam had a fight over the legalities of his divorce that led them to call off their wedding just two weeks before the wedding date. In November 2005, the trial against Khanduja was stayed by the Bombay High Court until January 2006. Khanduja claimed that there was no evidence to prove that breaking off the engagement had led to Joseph's suicide. He pointed out that Joseph's earlier engagements to Sameer Malhotra and Samir Soni had also ended. The beautiful actress Nafisa Joseph's death is another mystery that remains unsolved.

Actor Kunal Singh, who has worked in South films and was seen opposite Sonali Bendre in Dil Hi Dil Mein, allegedly committed suicide in his apartment in Mumbai. The actor was seen hanging by the ceiling fan of his apartment, by actress Lavina Bhatia, who then called the cops. According to a report in The Times Of India, Kunal who was working on the film Yogi at that time met the scriptwriters, costume designers and actress Lavina Bhatia a few hours earlier at his home. According to the report, Lavina claims to have gone to the washroom for ten minutes and when she came out, she saw him hanging from the ceiling. While a not-so-successful career is believed to have been a possible reason for Kunal’s death, the report also hints at marital discord. Apparently, Kunal's wife Anuradha got to know about his proximity to a co-star and that there were frequent arguments between them about the same. It is believed that his wife and two kids had gone to her maternal home in Ahmednagar at the time the incident took place. Kunal Singh's suicide remains a mystery like so many more cases.
